IMPORTANT: On August 13, 2014, the Governor signed House Bill 4376, “An Act Relative to the Reduction of Gun Violence.”

Please Call: 617-394-2293 To make an Appointment for LTC, FID, and All License Renewals.

The process takes approximately 45 min for each applicant. May take up to 90 days to receive Firearms ID once approved. Your LTC/FID will then be mailed to you.

1st Time Appling for a LTC Permit Requirements:

1. Application for LTC Completed and Signed.

2. Driver's license or valid Mass State Identification, Proving Identification and Residential Address.

3. Certificate of Completion of Mass State approved Safety Course. Mass Approved Firearms Safety Course List

4. Two letters of Recommendation; Typed in Business Format with Recommending Person's Name, Address, Phone Number, and Signed by Recommending Person. These letters should be at least a paragraph in length.

5. Letter from Applicant to the Chief of Police indicating why you would like a Firearms License, Typed in Business Format with Name, Address, and Phone Number Included in the Letter. This letter should be at least a paragraph in length.

6. Money order payable to the "City of Everett' for $100.00.

Renewal LTC Permit Requirements:

1. Application for LTC Completed and Signed.

2. Old LTC Permit. Drivers License (Confirming Residency)

3. Money Order payable to the 'City of Everett' for $100.00 (No Fee for 70 years old and older).

4. Retired Law Enforcement Officers: Money Order Payable to the 'City of Everett' for $25.00.

1st Time Appling for a FID Permit Requirements:

1. Application for FID Completed and Signed.

2. Driver's license or valid Mass State Identification, Proving Identification and Residential Address.

3. Certificate of Completion of Mass State approved Safety Course. Mass Approved Firearms Safety Course List

4. Two letters of Recommendation; Typed in Business Format with Referral Person's Name, Address, and Phone Number Included in the Letter.

5. Letter from Applicant to the Chief of Police on why you would like a Firearms License, Typed in Business Format with Name, Address, and Phone Number Included in the Letter..

6. Money order payable to the "City of Everett' for $100.00.

Renewal FID Permit Requirements:

1. Application for FID Completed and Signed.

2. Old FID Permit.

a. Money order payable to the "City of Everett' for $100.00.

b. New Change: Renewal Fee for Retired Law Enforcement Officers, Money Order Payable to the 'City of Everett' for $25.00.

Chemical (MACE/PEPPER SPRAY):

1.No Firearms Identification Card ID is needed to Purchase and Possess Chemical, Mace, Pepper Spray. Must be 18 years of age, and No Felony Record.
